12U Hawks Edge Piedmont 36-33 to Finish 9-1
Hawks 36, Piedmont Panthers 33
Player of the game: Isaiah N. (14 pts, 6 reb)
Piedmont came in with a plan to slow the game down, and for three quarters it worked. The Hawks trailed 25-22 heading into the fourth after a sloppy stretch of turnovers.
Coach Hill went to a full-court press and the game flipped. Jordan T. picked off two passes in a row, Isaiah N. hit a pull-up jumper, and the Hawks took the lead with 2:10 left.
Piedmont tied it at 33 with 40 seconds to go. Isaiah drew a foul on the drive and sank both free throws, then Malik B. forced a bad shot on the final possession.
Thank you to Riverbend Dental for sponsoring the 12U team this season and to the parents who filled the bleachers.
